Some witnesses reported to the police that the semi-truck was traveling eastbound on Highway 275. They reported that it seemed as if the driver could not control the vehicle and therefore the vehicle began to swerve while hitting the guard rail. Suddenly fire exploded from the truck as soon as it came to a stop. Semi Truck accidents like this one are common on the Long Island Expressway in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
